A story was told of a wealthy man who felt his son needed to learn gratefulness. So he sent him to stay with a poor farmer’s family. After one month, the son returned. The father asked, “Now don’t you appreciate what we have?” The boy thought for a moment and said, “The family I stayed with is better off. With what they’ve planted, they enjoy meals together. And they always seem to have time for one another.”

This story reminds us that money can’t buy everything.
With Budget Debate going on with huge talks in inflation, widening income gap and more $ talk.
I wonder if the people in the lower income groups here get to experience what the poor farmer experience. Do they have that joy despite their struggle? I wonder.
It was stated that the average house hold income is $6,000. Some bench marking as to where we stand.
This morning I was in the bus to school. There was a slightly aged lady blocking my way on the double Decker bus at the top deck. I made my way and took a seat. Along the journey,she came to my seat standing and said 'makan' gesturing two fingers towards her face. I did not get it. She continuously repeated. .....
She wants some money to have food. She reeks and was bold enough to approach the rest. I guess she is among the lower income group, sound like no income group/unemployed. For her case, she has "upgraded her skills" going all the way to the bus.
What can be done to resolve their plight?
