Happenings:
Manage to resume my jogging routine with some tweaking. I felt great wearing my sport shoes again =).

Motivation is something I believe is essential and a driving factor to propel one to do things. Hence the following material captivated me:

=Process Based Approach=

[1] Equity Theory

Reward_for_Snow / Effort_by_Snow = Reward_for_White/ Effort_by_white

When the above ratio do not tally it can cause the person with the less value to feel discourage and become less motivated. Why should I work so hard when I get only $ while the other guy get $ for little effort. Nevertheless there can be other factors to consider besides looking at things in $

[2] Expectancy theory

Motivation = E * I * V

where E:Expectancy (Probability of success), I:Instrumental (Will i be rewarded) & V:Valence (Value of reward) with having value 1 or 0

If either one become zero motivation becomes zero !!

[x]Goal Theory - Goal set -> Prompt action.

=Need Based Approach=

[3] Maslow Needs

Psychological -> Security -> Social -> Self-esteem -> Self-Actualization

It is a progress series of stages we go which can even be a cycle. Can proceed further if the current stage is stable.

[4] Herzberg-two factors { Hygiene-extrinsic | Motivator-intrinsic }

Both factors are essential however the motivators will be the one while will carry you far, Hygiene factors will make one look out for more and more. Civil pay is going to be increase cited because people are leaving to the private sector. The make issue would not have been $.In the long term raising $ will not really help for people will anticipate for the next increment.

Technology can fail you =( It hurts!

Happenings:
It was a mad morning rush on a drizzling Monday, all pump up to work when i was denied entry by the MRT station gantry. Repeated attempted to tap my card on the reader did not help,seek assistance from the station counter."I cannot not read your RFID ez-card its faulty" echoed the MRT staff on duty gleaming."Please get it repaired, the counter for that opens at 10am"she continued.What!! That very moment i got to make changes of plans nevertheless it hurts! I was supposed to be in school for a group study and ...

I am sure many of you face other techno failures that affected you. To add salt to the wound my monitor has gone blind and cannot show me any images anymore, my headpiece has become deaf on the right ear.Despite spending a lot time on their medical treatment i unable to treat them.I just got to accept them for who they are. They have changed and aged.A friend has also mention that his beloved notebook is in need of some treatment.Medical expenses are already so high how am i gonna pay for their treatment?

from experience,
Technology need to be maintain and monitored.Never be fully dependent on technology or take it for granted when comes to planning a plan B.When it goes down it hurts!

School provide a comfort zone to learn. In the field people will step on your face and move up if they have chance. Maximize school days!!

People need time.Making a difference step by step one at a time.Star thrower.After high tide transited to low tide, thousands of star wish were washed ashore.The little boy was picking up one starfish after another and throwing into the sea."What are you doing" asked the old man."The star fish will perish if they are not in the water.I am throwing them back into the sea" said the little boy."There are thousand of them along this shore how can you do it?" laughed the old man."It will make a difference to the star fishes that are thrown in!" replied the boy.

Happenings:

*Shelf fall*
At the bookstore as i was getting the shelf flush it topple backwards that instant i would not take the weight and called out “Help!” x 3.Thanks to the metal poles at the back the shelf slanted and was pushed back to position. It is suggested in future that there is at least 2 people when working on the shelf and not too much force is applied. When handling objects take care!

*BBQ*
Had BBQ @ ECP was fun indeed. One of the few excellence BBQ i have attended.
Exotic food on top of standard BBQ food – (String ray, Satay, need i say). I tried a
white dice which tasted like tofu,later did i realize its cheese! More-over you should check out the corn. Instead of bathing it with butter it was given some lemon rubs and masala(spice chili and salt).The taste is unique – new experience =) . Some of my peers found it sour. The kebab is the special item for the day with capsicums,brinjal,and mushroom.I found the kebab juicy =) tasted of yogurt.

Never fully trust the specification.There can be claims unless you really
test it for yourself you can't be sure.

Have experience this before in previous projects:
>Video Camera, claim 3hrs lifetime - but barely last an hour on the ground
>message packet claim 160bytes allowed- call up vendor confirm up to 240bytes allowed
>Device accurate up to 0.25m - On the ground accuracy of 3m.

Happenings:
My rola is very active today.Making aloud of noise and showing me a lot of signs.
Thanks to rola i am kept updated of the events that are taking place around my close
ones who are going overseas, anticipating a job,waiting for an update and request.

My DB lecturer came with a captivating analogy to illustrate the concept of Transaction States in a DB which he claims is boring.

A transaction invoke commence to an active state having read and write operations.Like guys busying studying at school.Some dare not approach girls for they fear that they will be rejected and end up a failure, like a transaction getting aborted to a failed state.

Some guys are daring and goes out to woo the girl and hence like the transaction become partially committed but still the girl can say 'NO' and the transaction aborted to a failed state.If the girl say 'YES' then the transaction end to a committed state.

All love story comes to an end and transaction end up being in a terminated state

Part2

Many guys can go after a girl resulting in a multiple transaction states resulting
in lots of problem.There is a tendency that the most recent guy will be accepted for
he learns from the previous guys and better himself before the girl.The current most transaction gets executed skipping the earlier ones.

Lecture will be fun with such analogy don't you agree?

Very impress with the actions taken to speed up the bus queue at the bus station
on the way to school.The bus company have taken several initiatives.Like having
a dedicated service to school.
Can they further improve the service got to wait and see .....
